Oaklawn Welcomes Rick Reeves, DO, to Beadle Lake Office

MARSHALL, Mich. — Oaklawn is pleased to welcome Rick Reeves, DO, to its Beadle Lake office, where he will begin seeing patients May 18 and provide family medicine care to the Battle Creek area.

Reeves said he focuses on helping patients improve their health through lifestyle and prevention.

“In general, I try to focus on how we can help you make your body healthy … with as little medication as possible,” he said.

Those conversations often include nutrition, mental health and other factors that shape a patient’s overall health, while recognizing that medication remains an important part of care when needed.

Reeves is a family medicine physician who recently completed his service in the U.S. Navy. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

Reeves said returning to the Battle Creek area and Oaklawn’s smaller community feel made the organization a natural fit at this stage of his career. “I grew up in Battle Creek, and so this was kind of the area where I was planning to come” after finishing his Navy service, he said. “I don’t necessarily want to be part of a big, huge system.” Reeves added that Oaklawn’s support for the medical mission work he and his wife do in Honduras also helped draw him to the organization.

Reeves will practice at Oaklawn’s Beadle Lake office at 14231 Beadle Lake Rd. in Battle Creek. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 269-962-0441.
