Oaklawn Cardiopulmonary provides comprehensive diagnostic testing to support heart and lung health for patients in our community. Our experienced team works closely with your healthcare provider to deliver timely, accurate results—helping guide your care with confidence.

Our Services

Oaklawn Cardiopulmonary offers a full range of outpatient and inpatient diagnostic testing, including:

  • Echocardiograms (Echo)
  • Electrocardiograms (EKG) *Available on a walk-in basis with valid physician’s order
  • Cardiac Stress Testing
  • Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)

Oaklawn Cardiopulmonary serves patients 18 years and older. Pulmonary function testing is available for patients 6 years and older. Referrals commonly come from primary care providers, cardiologists, and pulmonologists.

Echocardiograms and stress tests are performed by Oaklawn’s cardiac sonographers and cardiopulmonary team, with results reviewed by Beacon Heart Institute providers. Pulmonary Function Tests are conducted by Oaklawn respiratory therapists and interpreted by Oaklawn Medical Group pulmonologists.

What to Expect on Test Day

Our cardiopulmonary team will call ahead to confirm your appointment and review any preparation instructions. If you have had a recent illness, including respiratory symptoms or have been on antibiotics, testing should be scheduled at least two weeks after recovery.

Patients check in at Central Registration, located inside the hospital at 200 N. Madison Street in Marshall. After check-in, testing is completed on the second floor. Your ordering physician typically reviews and shares results with you following your test.

Test Lengths

  • Echocardiogram: Approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour
  • EKG: Walk-in testing; timing may vary
  • Stress Test: Up to 3 hours (may include nuclear medicine imaging before and after exercise)
  • Pulmonary Function Testing: Approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour
