MARSHALL, Mich. – Oaklawn Medical Group is pleased to announce that Rachel Saeger, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, has joined its Allergy, Asthma & Immunology practice.
Saeger, who initially joined Oaklawn in May 2025, has recently returned to her full-time clinical practice following a maternity leave. She is now accepting new patients at the Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology office in Marshall and focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centered allergy care for both adults and children.
Saeger earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Lansing Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ferris State University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Michigan State University. She is a member of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners.
“I was excited to work for Oaklawn Medical Group because Oaklawn has a great reputation in the community and I’ve had such a good experience joining the team,” Saeger said. “Everyone that I have encountered has been very helpful and kind. Though I am not from the area, I am excited to work in Marshall. Throughout my short time here I have appreciated the sense of community and small-town feel.”
When working with patients and families, Saeger strives to pair clinical expertise with compassion and clear communication.
“The conditions that patients are seeking care for can have a huge impact on quality of life, so I approach caring for them with compassion and understanding. I believe it is important to work with patients and their families to develop a treatment plan that is evidence based but also considers their values and preferences; the plan has to work for them,” she said. “I also try to remember that a routine day for me may be a very nerve-wracking day for my patients, this can be especially true of pediatric patients. Because of this I do my best to explain things in a way that’s easy to understand and keep my patient updated on the process throughout their time with us.”
Saeger also shared what patients and families can expect from her at appointments.
“I want to partner with patients to develop a plan that is realistic for their individual circumstances. It is important to remember that we are working on the same team towards the same goal. I always appreciate a patient sharing their perspective with me. I also enjoy developing a more personalized relationship with patients when seeing them over time,” she said.
