Oaklawn welcomes Michael Nosanov, M.D., to Ear, Nose & Throat
MARSHALL, Mich. – Michael Nosanov, M.D., an otolaryngologist with more than three decades of experience, will join Oaklawn Medical Group – Ear, Nose & Throat beginning Monday, Sept. 21.
Nosanov treats a broad range of conditions involving the ears, nose, throat, head and neck, including sinus and ear conditions, thyroid disease, head and neck cancer, voice and swallowing disorders and sleep apnea.
“What attracted me to the specialty is the diversity of what we do, and not just disease, but age,” Nosanov said. “There’s no age limit. We take care of everybody within the specialty.”
Nosanov said patient education and communication have remained central to his approach throughout his career.
“I’ve always felt that educating the patient and having them involved seems to work really well,” he said. “I try to explain in ways that anybody could understand and feel comfortable with, what we’re dealing with, what the process is, how we’re going to go about the treatment, and letting them know exactly what to expect from their treatment plan.”
Nosanov earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
He began practicing in Hastings in 1989 and spent 26 years there before most recently practicing in Bryan, Ohio. Nosanov said joining Oaklawn provides an opportunity to return home to Michigan and to the community hospital environment where he has spent much of his career.
“I love it here,” Nosanov said. “It’s home.”
