Oaklawn occupational therapists trained in vision rehabilitation offer a unique approach for addressing common vision problems in adults. In addition to assessing vision impairments, an occupational therapy plan of care individualizes patient goals which target the functional impact of these vision problems.
For example, a person experiencing visual field defect can work on compensatory training which improves participation in activities of daily living, whether it be to better scan their closet in picking out clothing for the day, or simply to have an easier time seeing the food on their plate. Someone experiencing inefficient saccadic eye movements can address eye drills which can improve reading as well as close work tolerance in common activities such as the use of their phone.
Vision therapy is currently offered at the Marshall and Beadle Lake rehabilitation offices. Call to schedule an appointment today!
