Oaklawn welcomes new family nurse practitioner to Coldwater office

Lindsey Everline, FNP, has joined Oaklawn Primary Care – Coldwater located at 375 N Willowbrook Rd, 517-924-1605.

Lindsey brings with her five years of ICU clinical and three years of medical/surgical experience. She also has in-depth clinical preparation in family practice, obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics.

For the past two decades, Lindsey worked at the hospital in Coldwater and is looking forward to the next chapter of her medical career.

“I’m excited for the change and  I’m excited to work for Oaklawn,” she said. “They’ve been a solid force for 100 years and their reputation is great. They have good quality care, so I’m excited to be making the move.”

Lindsey will see patients of all ages, noting that she expects to see “a little bit of everything.”

She added she really enjoys getting to know her patients.

“I definitely like to meet new people and hear their life stories and their triumphs,” said Lindsey. “That’s always a lovely thing. Each patient is a little bit different in what they bring to the table, what they don’t know, what they already know and what they teach me. So, I really do enjoy that…Sometimes people just need reassurance, and sometimes they need more and want to see a specialist. It’s my job to figure out that need as well as what’s going on with them.”

She said she was interested in a career in medicine for as long as she can remember.

“I always wanted to be in healthcare, and when I was in high school, I went through a health prep program and I started as a nursing assistant and just worked my way from there,” said Lindsey, who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University and her Master of Science in Nursing, FNP specialty, through Walden University in Minneapolis. Her sister also works at Oaklawn as an RN.

Lindsey is mom to three children, ages 6, 11 and 14, who keep her busy with their sports and activities.

“We spend all summer going to softball and baseball games,” she said, adding that she enjoys baking, reading, growing her own food and canning.

Lindsey said Oaklawn has been “great” in helping her get set to start at the office in Coldwater.

“Oaklawn has been very accommodating and very excited to get me on board,” she said  “I worked with Chris Bailey in recruiting, and she has just bent over backwards to set everything up and make it easy for me to get started. I really appreciate her expertise in helping me navigate this new position. That can be a bit difficult, and she really made it easy for me so if that’s the way the rest of the Oaklawn operates, I’m very lucky to be part of this… I’m looking forward to getting started.”
