Marshall, MI – Oaklawn is pleased to announce a new partnership with Bronson Battle Creek Hospital that will bring its Oncology and Hematology department back to full service, restoring a vital line of care for the greater Marshall community.
Through this collaboration, the cancer center at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital will provide a dedicated physician to lead care at Oaklawn’s Oncology and Hematology Clinic, while Oaklawn will continue to staff the department with its team of skilled and compassionate nurses. This partnership marks a significant milestone for Oaklawn, which has operated under limited service offerings in oncology and hematology over the past few years due to the absence of a full-time provider.
“This is an exciting and long-awaited moment for our patients and for our organization,” said Theresa Dawson, Chief Nursing Officer at Oaklawn. “We understand how important it is for our community members to receive high-quality cancer care close to home. With the support of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital’s cancer center, we’re proud to once again offer a full range of oncology and hematology services right here in Marshall.”
The newly reestablished full-service clinic will allow patients to receive comprehensive care—including treatment and ongoing management of cancer and blood disorders—without having to travel outside of the community.
“This new partnership aligns with Bronson’s mission: Together, we advance the health of our communities,” said Joe du Lac, Chief Operating Officer, Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. “We look forward to working with our partners in Marshall to improve access to high-quality cancer services across our region.”
The clinic is now accepting referrals and began seeing patients under the new model June 2.

About Oaklawn
Oaklawn was founded in 1925 as a 12-bed hospital in a residential home, funded by a group of visionary philanthropists. Now, almost ten decades later, we’ve evolved into a highly regarded regional health care organization, licensed for 77 acute care beds and a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. We’ve continued to be an independently owned not-for-profit hospital, with our main campus residing on the same site as the original hospital, providing facilities, equipment and technology that are usually only found at larger health systems. We enjoy a reputation for advancing medicine and providing compassionate, personal care. Our service area includes Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties with a medical staff of more than 300 providers representing over 55 specialties.
