MARSHALL, Mich. – Oaklawn is expanding operating hours at its outpatient pharmacy, located in the back of the Brooks Building at 310 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Marshall.
Beginning July 28, the pharmacy will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be the only pharmacy in Marshall offering Sunday hours.
“Expanding our hours will help folks with work schedules that previously didn’t allow them to use our pharmacy,” said Oaklawn Pharmacist Tara Hanson. “It will also help those going to express care or emergency department after normal office hours to still be able to get their medications without having to drive out of town. Before this expansion there was no pharmacy open in Marshall on Sundays, so we saw need for our community.”
The outpatient pharmacy, which had a soft opening in January, is part of Oaklawn’s broader effort to provide accessible, high-quality care to residents in Marshall and surrounding areas. It offers prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as health and wellness products including vitamins, supplements and personal care items.
Patients can take advantage of prescription services such as easy refills, transfers and online management. The pharmacy also works directly with Oaklawn providers to help streamline care and offer potential cost savings through major insurance plans and available discounts.
Medication counseling and consultations are available from Oaklawn’s licensed pharmacists: Hanson, Daniel Harsh and Eugene Mead.
“We have a staff of three pharmacists and two certified pharmacy technicians that are all very experienced with working in community pharmacy for many years,” Hanson said. “We are knowledgeable, friendly and typically have shorter wait times then other pharmacies. We pride ourselves on making our patients our number one priority.”
