Celebrate Independence Day in Downtown Marshall with a Parade, Patriotic Music, and Chicken BBQ

Marshall, MI — Join the Marshall community for a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration at the Brooks Memorial Fountain in downtown Marshall! This festive annual event will bring together residents and visitors for a morning full of tradition, fun, and delicious food.

The day kicks off with the Pet, Bike, and Wagon Parade, proudly sponsored by Oaklawn. Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons, and even dress up their pets in red, white, and blue for this fun and free event. Parade registration is now open at oaklawnhospital.org/parade, and participants are asked to line up at 9:45 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. and wraps up by 11:00 a.m.

Immediately following the parade, enjoy a stirring patriotic musical ceremony performed by the Marshall Rotary Band, a beloved tradition that brings the community together in celebration of our nation’s birthday.

From 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the mouthwatering Chicken BBQ sponsored by the Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance (MAEDA) will be served. Meal tickets are $13 for a BBQ chicken dinner and $8 for a kids hot dog meal. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Choose Marshall Welcome Center or Hemmingsen’s Drug Store. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the event—early purchase is strongly recommended to ensure your meal.
