Amy Ball, PA-C, Joins Oaklawn Medical Group – Gastroenterology
MARSHALL, Mich. — Oaklawn Medical Group is pleased to announce that Amy Ball, PA-C, has joined Oaklawn Medical Group – Gastroenterology. Ball is expected to begin seeing patients in early April in Marshall.
Ball brings 19 years of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology. She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a chemistry minor from Freed-Hardeman University.
“Growing up, I was always interested in science and medicine. I learned about the physician assistant profession during college, and it sounded like a great career,” Ball said.
Listening to patients and discussing care decisions with them are central to how Ball practices.
“My main approach is to just ask and listen. I try not to go into the room thinking I already know what’s going on with a patient because I’ve read his or her chart. It’s important to let them tell their story. I also think it’s important to discuss tests and treatments with patients rather than just write orders. Follow-through is so much better after a thorough discussion,” Ball said.
Ball added that joining Oaklawn felt like a natural fit.
“It’s also really close to home, and so far everyone I’ve met from Oaklawn has been so friendly and welcoming,” she said. “I appreciate the opportunity to work at Oaklawn and look forward to creating meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues.”
