Health Systems Collaborate with NAHQ to Standardize Competencies

Three quality-driven organizations adopt NAHQ’s standard framework workforce solution for quality and safety.

CHICAGO (November 9, 2022) – Standardizing competencies across roles and responsibilities in healthcare and upskilling the workforce is a vital solution to reducing variability in care delivery and ultimately making healthcare better. The National Association for Healthcare Quality® (NAHQ) is pleased to announce that Texas-based CHRISTUS Health, Inspira Health of New Jersey, and Oaklawn Hospital in Michigan are collaborating with NAHQ to achieve this level of standardization with its Workforce Accelerator® solution.

Workforce Accelerator is a scalable, three-phase enterprise solution designed for healthcare organizations to accelerate their quality journey — assessing, planning, and upskilling to leverage their quality workforce. The solution helps organizations prioritize their opportunities to accelerate achievement of their quality and performance improvement goals.

“With Workforce Accelerator, NAHQ identified a need in the market that was previously unmet – addressing workforce readiness for quality and safety,” said NAHQ Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Mercado, CAE, CPHQ. “As a mission-driven organization motivated to make sustainable change in healthcare, NAHQ set out to define and implement a new national standard for healthcare quality and safety.

“We are proud to be working with these healthcare organizations that are committed to excellence in quality and safety,” Mercado added. “Throughout the year, we hear from healthcare leaders about the variability in their workforce, even among similar roles across the organization. NAHQ has taken ownership of healthcare quality competencies and workforce readiness to do the important work of healthcare quality.”
