Let’s face it, the majority of people aren’t overly thrilled about a visit to the lab. Perhaps you’re afraid of needles (and if so, you have something in common with roughly 20 percent of the population). The good news is our exceptional team of phlebotomists and medical technologists will ensure you have a positive experience.

We also understand that your time is valuable, which is why you have access to six off-site draw stations and an on-site location with extended hours.

When it comes to you and your family’s health, you have enough things to think about. We’ve taken care of convenience and affordability so you can focus on what matters most.

Our patient-centered Laboratory is certified by the College of American Pathologists and staffed by experienced phlebotomists and medical technologists.

The main Oaklawn Laboratory is open to outpatients with a physician’s order from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00am to 12:00 pm Saturdays. Closed Sundays and Holidays. For lab services, please sign in at Central Registration which you can access from the main hospital lobby. Please contact the other locations on this page for their specific lab hours.

The majority of testing does not require an appointment, and patients are served on a first-come, first-served basis. Some testing requires at-home collection or a special diet. Oaklawn’s Lab has prep sheets available for patients to follow in these circumstances. Also, some laboratory testing (i.e. stool or 24-hour urine testing) may require special kits or supplies and our lab will conveniently supply those to you.
