Update on Meridian and Molina Agreement Terminations

Back in September, Oaklawn announced the unfortunate news that we would be terminating our managed care agreement with Meridian and Molina, effective 1-1-24. As a reminder, this contract termination was the result of Meridian and Molina’s continued failure to address problematic reimbursement issues and other related problems.

Over the last several months, we have been working hand-in-hand with representatives of Meridian and Molina with the intent of resolving our differences before the pending termination was due to take effect.

We are pleased to announce that Oaklawn has come to new agreements with the folks at Meridian and Molina. The terms of our new agreements provide Oaklawn with assurances that Meridian and Molina will act in good faith and be good corporate partners for Oaklawn in the years to come.  Our expectation is that Meridian and Molina will adhere to the requirements of our new agreements, which will enable us to continue providing their enrollees with a high-quality level of care. As a result of these new agreements, Oaklawn has rescinded our notices of termination. Meridian and Molina enrollees will be able to be treated by Oaklawn, our employed physicians, and our affiliated entities on an in-network basis through the new and coming years.
