Opioid epidemic presentation at Oaklawn Widow's Support Group

 Dr. Michael Chapman to speak to Widows Support Group on opioid epidemic Sept. 15

MARSHALL – The region’s ongoing opioid epidemic will be the focus of attention during the next luncheon meeting of the Oaklawn’s Widows Support Group.

The Oaklawn group will meet at noon Friday, Sept. 15, in the large classroom on the third floor of the Wright Medical Building, 215 E. Mansion St.

Michael Chapman, D.O., Oaklawn’s executive director of medical affairs, will be the featured speaker during the event.

Chapman is expected to focus on the nature of the widespread use and abuse of opioids, as well as how health-care and other regional services have attempted to address it.

Chapman earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Grand Blanc-based Genesys/Regional Medical Center. He began work in Oaklawn’s Emergency Department in 2012.
