After 42 years at Oaklawn, gynecologist Eric Ebner, M.D., FACOG will officially retire May 15. Since his arrival at Oaklawn in 1982, Dr. Ebner has seen thousands of patients and delivered more than 5,000 newborns.
After having his own private practice on West Mansion Street for three decades, Dr. Ebner joined Oaklawn Medical Group in 2012. When he arrived at Oaklawn in 1982, he was one of 18 physicians. Today, there are approximately 350 providers in the Oaklawn system.
A letter is going out to his patients informing them of his retirement and that gynecology services would still continue at the Beadle Lake office. Dr. Travis Terrell will be overseeing gynecology patients at the Beadle Lake location (14231 Beadle Lake Road, 269-962-0441) after Dr. Ebner retires.
“It’s been a wonderful 42 years,” said Dr. Ebner.. I’ve had great patients, and I have enjoyed working at Oaklawn. It’s been a great place to work with good people. I will miss the patients.. A lot of these people, I delivered their children and their grandchildren, and we’ve become friends, and I will miss those friends.”
“I had a patient I saw the other day – she started when she was 12 and now she is 54,” Dr. Ebner continued. “The exam almost becomes secondary compared to catching up with them every year to see how they are doing.”
After retiring, Dr. Ebner said he is looking forward to restoring a couple of old buildings in Marshall and travelling to South America to visit his sons and grandchildren in Brazil and Peru.
On the Oaklawn website, there are dozens of positive patient reviews for Dr. Ebner, including:
