Oaklawn begins administering COVID-19 vaccine to staff
Today marks an exciting day at Oaklawn as we began administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to our employees! Our critical care specialists and pulmonologists, Carlos Martinez, M.D. and Alcides Gil-Acosta, M.D. were the first to receive the vaccine. No one tool alone is going to stop the #COVID19 pandemic. A combination of getting a COVID-19 #vaccine, wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, and washing your hands often are all needed. #DoYourPart
The first round of vaccinations for all five tiers should be completed within the next 2 weeks and will be in order of tier groups:
Tier 1 Group includes Med/Surg, ED, CCU, Inpatient Psych, OB, Surgery, Nursing Supervisors, General Surgery, Pulmonology, Cardiopulmonary, Anesthesia, OBGYN Physicians, and the APP/Hospitalists Core Group.
Tier 2 Group includes Endoscopy, Oncology, Inpatient Rehab, and Gastro.
Tier 3 Group includes OMG offices (not including Admin), Physical Rehab, Sports Rehab, Physical Therapy, OPS, Radiology, Sleep Center, Wound Clinic, Case Mgmt., Hospice, and Homecare.
Tier 4 Group includes Administration, OMG Admin, Nursing Admin, Community Schools Nurses, Development, Dietary, Ella’s Cafe, Finance, HIM, HME, Housekeeping, Human Resources, IS, Laboratory, BioMed, Materials, OLIC, OMG Central Billing, Patient Financial Services, Pharmacy, Planning, Plant Operations, Quality, Registration, and Scheduling & Verification.
Tier 5 Group includes Dr. Neidlinger’s office, Dr. Byrens’ office, Capital Urology, Marshall Ophthalmology, Spartan Podiatry, Oncology, APP, Pain Clinic, and Hospitalists.
