BATTLE CREEK — Local residents can expect increased access to express care and other health services as the Oaklawn Medical Group prepares to expand its presence in this community during 2023.
Oaklawn President and CEO Gregg Beeg spoke to a recent gathering of Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce members to discuss the organization’s plans for a new service location at 5352 Beckley Road.
“We look to open our Beckley Road location during the first few months of 2023 after the leasehold improvements are completed,” Beeg said.
The site is a facility formerly operated by a Kalamazoo-based medical organization. Oaklawn subsequently took over the building’s lease with a goal of opening an express-care facility there during early 2023, to be followed by additional services, officials for Oaklawn said.
“Oaklawn’s patient services at the site will include express care, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, and orthopedics,” Beeg told Chamber members. “We will continue to look at expansion opportunities as well as collaborative partnerships and relationships for patient-care services throughout the region.”
Additional details about those specific services will be announced in the weeks ahead as medical providers are secured for the new location, Oaklawn officials said.
“We recognize that the health-care needs of our communities continue to grow and evolve,” said Zach Chapman, the medical group’s executive director. “Patients and their families deserve facilities and services that are convenient and close to where they live and work.”
“Oaklawn has a long-standing presence throughout Calhoun County and beyond, including the Battle Creek region,” Beeg said, pointing out that the medical group’s Beadle Lake facility has been in operation for about 12 years.
“This new project is another step toward our goal of providing the best possible health services to the communities we serve,” he said.
