World Diabetes Day Community Health Event

In recognition of World Diabetes Day, Oaklawn’s Diabetes Education team, the Fountain Clinic, and Hemmingsen Drug Store will co-host a free community health screenings event on Friday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fountain Clinic, located at 111 N. Jefferson Street. Suite 1, in Marshall.

This free, public event invites community members to stop by for a variety of health screenings and services, including:

• A1C tests (a simple blood test that measures average blood sugar levels over the past 2–3 months used in diagnosing type 2 diabetes)
• Blood sugar checks
• Blood pressure checks
• Flu and COVID vaccines (patient insurance will be billed, if available)
• Foot care screenings

The event will also feature refreshments provided by Pastrami Joe’s and opportunities to connect with local healthcare professionals and wellness resources.

This event is made possible through grant funding from the Marshall Community Foundation (MCF) and the Senior Millage Allocation Committee, ensuring that majority of services are offered free of charge to attendees. For more information, contact the Fountain Clinic at (269) 781-0952.
