Rhinoplasty (also known as a nose job) improves the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial harmony and self confidence. This procedure can also help correct impaired breathing cause by structural abnormalities in the nose. While the shape of your nose is usually hereditary, the appearance may have been altered in an injury.

Rhinoplasty surgery can help with:

  • Nose size, in relation to other facial structures
  • Nose width at the bridge
  • Nose profile with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip that is large or bulbous, drooping, or upturned
  • Large, wide or upturned nostrils
  • Nasal asymmetry and deviation

If you’re considering getting a nose job, you have two different options. A closed rhinoplasty involves incisions made on the inside of the nose, making it less invasive and resulting in less bruising and swelling. Scars aren’t visible, however, your surgeon is a little more limited in what they’re able to achieve. An open rhinoplasty involves incisions both on the inside of the nose and the area between the nostrils. Your surgeon has greater access to your nose and is able to perform more complicated procedures. However, it’s more invasive and involves a longer recovery time with increased bruising and swelling.
