Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and later her Masters degree in Nursing from Spring Arbor University. Prior to joining the hospitalist team as a Nurse Practitioner, she spent 18 years at the bedside, the last 13 working for Oaklawn. She also previously worked as an Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager where she performed direct patient care on an adult inpatient oncology unit, administering chemotherapy and biotherapy. At Oaklawn, her experience included working as a Medical Surgical Charge Nurse with oversight of a 38-bed unit where she collaborated with doctors and staff to ensure high-quality care. Most recently, Rebecca was a Float Nurse and Relief House Supervisor where she worked within the emergency department, psychiatric center, med/surg unit, critical care unit, birth center, endoscopy, and oncology unit. After obtaining her Masters degree, Rebecca is continuing her inpatient hospital care as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Apogee Physicians at Oaklawn.
Rebecca is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and in a Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
