Oaklawn nurses deserve thanks during special recognition week

Oaklawn nurses deserve thanks during special recognition week

To the editor:

As Oaklawn Hospital prepares for National Nurses Week – from May 6 through 12 – we want to take the opportunity to thank Oaklawn’s nursing staff for their hard work and dedication to become such a renowned provider of astonishing nursing care.

Reflecting on our organization’s mission, “Striving for Perfect Care Every Time,” this reminds me of a famous quote from Florence Nightingale in “Notes on Nursing: What It Is, and What It Is Not”: “Let whoever is in charge keep this simple question in her/his head (not, how can I always do this right thing myself, but) how can I provide for this right thing to be always done?”

Our Oaklawn Hospital nurses clearly exhibit their mission to promote physical, spiritual and emotional well-being of others with caring and empathy through relationship-based care.

We thank them, and want them to know that they are truly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Theresa Dawson, DNP, MSN, RN, CCRN-Alumnus
