Dr. Chehouri is the Director of Hospitalist Medicine at Oaklawn and the Vice Chief of the Inpatient Medicine section. He leads the Apogee Physicians group that provides the highest quality hospitalist services. He joined the medical staff at Oaklawn in 2017.
Before joining the staff at Oaklawn, Dr. Chehouri was in private practice and delivered inpatient and outpatient care in Southeastern Michigan. He maintained clinical privileges at Garden City Hospital and multiple skilled nursing facilities. Apart from clinical practice, Dr. Chehouri holds the appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University-College of Osteopathic Medicine and has taught many medical students and internal medicine residents.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is an active member in the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Chehouri attended the University of Michigan and received a Bachelors of Science with honors in pre-medical studies and biological psychology. He then went on to graduate from Nova Southeastern medical school before completing an internal medicine residency as part of the Michigan State University-statewide campus system.
