Dr. Jim Gray has been in practice in Marshall since 1982. He is the first podiatrist to serve on staff at Oaklawn Hospital and is it’s longest serving surgeon. Dr. Gray attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 1981. He completed a one year residency at Sydney A. Sumby Hospital in River Rouge, MI. He has served on the staffs of Oaklawn Hospital, Battle Creek Community Hospital and Albion Community Hospital. He has treated over twenty thousand patients during his years in this area. Many of those years he was in practice with his brother, Bill, who retired in 2015. He enjoys patients of all types but has specific interests in forefoot surgeries such as bunionectomies, hammertoe correction surgeries and other reconstructive procedures. He also serves at the Oaklawn Hospital Wound Clinic where he treats foot wounds including diabetic foot ulcers. In his spare time Dr. Gray is the artistic director of the Brass Band of Battle Creek, a thirty member professional brass band that has completed four international tours and performed for hundreds of thousands in the U.S., U.K. and Caribbean. He is an amateur musician performing on the euphonium, clarinet and bass clarinet. Dr. Gray is also an avid Michigan State supporter. Dr. Gray and his wife, Denise, have one son, Jonathan.
