Flu season is herev- Oaklawn modifies visitation policy

Effective immediately:  Due to increased influenza activity in our state and community, Oaklawn is modifying the visitation policy.

UPDATE: The flu visitation restriction has been lifted effective April 18, 2017!

We carefully monitor flu activity levels in our hospital and the community.  Please be aware that no one under the age of 16 years may visit at any time during while these precautions are in effect.

In addition, no more that two (2) visitors may be present in a patient’s room at any one time.

The birth center will allow one significant other and healthy grandparents.

If you have a fever, body aches, sore throat, cough or flu-like symptoms, please postpone your visit until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

Oaklawn encourages hand hygiene, covering your cough and limiting contact with others when ill to prevent the transmission of influenza.

We regret any inconvenience caused by these restrictions which are being implemented in the interest of patient care.  Oaklawn will keep these precautions in place for only as long as necessary.
